“A charming little barge with sophisticated cheeses and knowledgeable staff created a wonderfully enjoyable and unique experience during our time in London.”
The Cheese Barge – Paddington
The Cheese Barge, a delightful floating restaurant near Paddington Station, was a highlight of our stay in the area. Prior to our trip, our friend Kelly had sent it to me via Instagram, and I was so delighted to find that it was within a block or two of where we were staying our last night in London.
As we stepped aboard, we were greeted by a cozy atmosphere, surrounded by friendly cheese lovers who were all eager to taste their artisanal cheeses. We couldn’t resist trying the curry cheese curds, which were a surprising and delicious twist on traditional flavors. Paired with a carefully selected wine, our experience was elevated even further.
The cheese plate we ordered was a feast for the senses, featuring a diverse array of cheeses that showcased unique textures and flavors. Each bite was a delightful journey, complemented by crusty bread and savory accompaniments. Enjoying our meal while watching other boats float by us in the canal added to the charm. The Cheese Barge is a must-visit for cheese lovers, offering a memorable dining experience in a picturesque setting. While I would not necessary suggest on your first trip to London, certainly worthwhile to try if you are in the nearby area.
