Sandeman’s New Europe Walking Tour

Sandeman’s Free Walking Tours were something that we had stumbled upon many years ago when we lived abroad.  When ever we are traveling to a city that has one, we always ensure to take advantage.  The benefit of this type of walking tour is that the tour guides are working for your tips, so it ensures that you will get a wonderful experience and learn lots of interesting facts about the city that you may not have otherwise known.  We generally try to take one on at the beginning of our trip, in case there is somewhere that we may want to return to.

Our Sandeman’s Free Walking Tours in London provided an unforgettable exploration of the city, led by our enthusiastic guide, Herbie, a street performing magician. We started our journey at the vibrant Covent Garden, where street performers and bustling markets set the stage for a lively day. Our next stop was Trafalgar Square, where we encountered numerous protests, a testament to the city’s vibrant civic life and engagement. Herbie shared fascinating stories about the square’s significance and the statues that adorn it. From there, we made our way to Buckingham Palace, where Herbie’s insights about the monarchy and royal traditions added depth to our visit. Finally, we strolled to the iconic Big Ben, marveling at its grandeur and the surrounding historic architecture, hearing the bells strike at 12 pm. The tour was not only informative but also engaging, as Herbie brought history to life, making our day in London truly memorable.
