This morning after we got back from Nick’s physiotherapy appointment I had to convince myself that it would be a good idea to climb the creuza to Righi today, as I climbed it the other day for the first time and the view of the city below was just amazing, although foggy and rainy.  Righi is a smaller area of Genova that sits above Casteletto.  While I didn’t venture around much while I was up there, as I was too worried about ensuring that I stayed active (running), I have heard that there are some pretty delicious restaurants that we need to try out.

As you can see from many of the pictures below the sun was beaming today, so if any day would be good to go, it would be today. I am happy to report that it was not nearly as difficult, or seemed as long as it did the other day, so I must be improving some!  Thanks to my mom and my lovely grandmother I was able to purchase myself a new GPS watch for Christmas, which I am really liking.  Although I am still pretty slow, and in today’s case I am going to blame it on several things: the terrain/elevation, the fact that I have been battling a cold and sore throat, and the fact that I stopped frequently to take pictures in order to complete this blog post 🙂 I am enjoying being able to track my runs. My goal when I return to the States is to be in good enough shape to be able to run some road races, and hopefully eventually a half marathon (but we shall see)!

I heard rumors that there was a ropes course in Genova, but had yet to discover it until today.  I was running back down the road and was curious as to what was hidden down a side road, and here I found Genova’s high ropes course.  While pretty deserted right now, it looks like a fun place that we might need to come back to later on in the semester.

Despite the school work that I had to start, today was a very nice day.  Nick’s class had their first project review and he was very pleased with their work, which is always good!  This afternoon I was asking Lucia to assist me in finding a fitted sheet for our bed, as unfortunately we had one that met it’s demise when Nick had his external fixator on, and since then I have been using a flat sheet, which just hasn’t been cutting it.  I was in the kitchen apologizing to her for being so annoying.  Well her and Cristina did not understand what annoying meant, so I pulled the translation dictionary that they keep in the kitchen drawer out and quickly searched for the translation.  So, I proudly say – molestare – which I thought was quite weird and they looked at me kind of oddly.  Then I thought to myself, that sounds an awful like molest!  So I then looked up the translation for molest and sure enough it was molestare, guess somethings don’t always translate properly – eek!
