I want to start off by apologizing to my “fans”, I have watched the hits to my blog diminish, and I figure that is because of one of two things – my lack of blogging or my posts are boring everyone! So to solve both of these issues I am going to guarantee my loyal fans at least two posts a week (hopefully more) and I am going to research what blog posts interest people 🙂
To recap our weekend – some of the students left to travel for their suggested travel weekend and others hung around the villa to catch up on some work and sleep. I will have to say it was quite nice just having a few of them here! A little more calm then normal, but not too quiet!
On Saturday we hung around the Villa and watched football and I did some school work. We Skyped with Tia, Nic, Blake and Zane for awhile. Blake, as usual, was hilarious. He found a bag of clothes that he proceeded to unpack and refold while we watched him. It is awesome to be able to talk and “see” them – I know that everyone back home is going through tough times right now and it is just nice to be able to be there for each other, even though we can’t physically be there. Nick is so excited, he ordered Blake a new Clint Eastwood movie – which will be delivered Tuesday. It is the “one with the monkey” in it, we are excited to see what Blake thinks of it!
On Sunday I went to mass in San Nicola, I have been going to the same church that Barbara took me to the first two weeks. It is a smaller church, which is attended every week by a dog! Yes, I said a DOG! I have yet to figure out why this guy attends mass, but he is there every week with his owner and no one seems to care. I am not sure that taking your pet to church would fly in the US!
Below is a picture of the outside of the church in San Nicola, like most churches that I have been inside of – non descriptive on the outside, but beautiful on the inside. This church specifically has no identifier on the outside letting you know in fact that it is a church or what their mass times are.
After mass I took the long way home, walking up Via Paride Salvago. While out I tried my best to take in my surroundings. Granted I haven’t been around many areas of the city, but I feel pretty lucky to be living in Castelletto. No matter where we seem to be the views are always amazing!
Sunday we pretty much kept to the apartment allowing the students to have their time in the sunroom. Nick caught up on work, myself on school work, and then Sunday evening was spent watching football (Way to Go Panthers!) and of course me watching Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake reruns! 😉
I am looking forward to this week, as we will travel to Milan on Thursday. Nick will likely stay behind as he has a follow up appointment, so I am looking forward to some time hanging with Giuditta and then Friday is our Villa Party. This afternoon after lunch I spent some time in the kitchen “chatting” with Lucia, Cristina and Giuditta – of course I didn’t understand half of what they said (okay more then half) – but it was fun to hang out with them.
Ciao for now….
