As I promised a couple weeks ago (I didn’t forget) I want to tell you a little bit more about another person that makes the villa run, Lucia. Lucia is the housekeeper at the villa and she often can be found in the kitchen assisting Cristina with meals. Lucia is a second generation housekeeper (well kind of) at the villa, as her mother-in-law was the housekeeper prior to her.
Lucia is married to a former professional soccer player, Fabrizio. Fabrizio is the goalie coach for one of Genova’s hometown teams, Sampdoria. He can often be found hanging around the villa before or after practices having a cafe, and of course harassing Lucia and Cristina. He loves to talk soccer, Nick and Fabrizio can spend some time chit chatting about it, I on the other hand often bow out of those conversations as I know nothing about the game, other than which guy is the best looking on the team (#3 on Sampdoria)! 😉
Lucia and Fabrizio have two children, Marta who is attending college in Milano for communications and Massimo who is in middle school. We have found that Massimo is more fond of his sports than school, which often requires him to be tutored, or so we are told 😉
Everyday when Lucia is done working she makes her way to the gym where she enjoys aerobics classes! She is a super sweet and fun lady and we are very lucky to have her at the villa to clean up after us!
